BIO

How I Got Here

At an early age, I found a passion for writing in a variety of manners. Attending the University of Texas at Austin allowed me to cultivate my passion for journalism and develop a beat within local government and political pieces. This spurred my adding a minor in government so I could gain a deeper understanding of the systems and institutions around me. Since, I have reported on Austin City Council meetings for classes and the 2023 Texas Legislative Session for the Longview News-Journal.

My skill for crafting and telling stories led me to the position of Communications Associate for the Longview Museum of Fine Arts. I worked remotely for the museum from early 2022 to May 2023 planning and creating their social media calendar for multiple platforms as well as coordinating and copywriting weekly email campaigns. This position introduced me to marketing and public relations opportunities that i found great interest in and hope to pursue in the future.

My variety of work and academic experience I have accumulated has allowed me to hone my skills of communication, copywriting, storytelling, reporting and completing tasks efficiently and effectively. I am a fast learner and someone who is always committed and dedicated to the job she is doing.

As I move on in my career, I hope to find a position that allows me to curate and tell well-informed stories. Whether this be reporting for an organization dedicated to truth and ethical journalism or building a brand through marketing or public relations, I hope to be doing something that benefits those around me.
